Beauty Comforts: post Tisha B’Av mini contest!

So many of us fasted and bathed in ice cold water. So we ended up with feeling icky and broken-hearted that we STILL don’t have Moshiach nor our temple.

For now, we can console ourselves a little bit!
I have in my coffers:

Victoria’s Secret Beauty Rush Lip Gloss
(six shades for the fashionistas)

and

Victoria’s Secret PINK Everything Refresher Spray, $8

So in summary, 8 prizes in all. Just post away until next Thursday night and you will get your stuff.

Gut shabbos everyone!

My eBay adventures…

For many years, I’ve just been a buyer on eBay. Two weeks ago, I began selling on eBay. So far so good I’ve sold three items. Now, I’m selling a bra that I bought from Bravissimo that didn’t fit right. It’s a NWT 34 FF bra but the cups are HUGE.

If you are looking for a full-figured bra then snag it from me. Obviously, pass it on.

I’m just glad I’m able to help others while cleaning out my apartment!

off-road posting

I will post tonight about what’s on my summer reading list. For now, I will post beauty and fashion randomness!

So far, I have held off Lushness! I will get myself a few bath bombs next month when my son goes off to camp.

I still haven’t gotten around to buying a spare bathing suit. Instead, I focused on buying camp gear. I decided on dominoes and a pack of cards.

Yesterday, the cleaning lady came and worked for six hours. Finally, both bedrooms are spotless and clutter-free. My mood has improved tremendously!

I discovered Avon’s wash-off waterproof mascara; great application. I was able to use a dampened cotton swab to get rid of oops! For $2, I can’t complain.

My complextion is virtually blemish free. I am experiencing some enlarged pores so will focus my OCM on those spots.

I have been wearing my glasses in public almost daily. It’s not so bad…not a thrill ride either, LOL!

So that’s all for the AM!

Beach worthy makeup: part II

So my summer routine becomes more streamlined and takes more time… My two words for beach makeup is LIGHT and SHEER. There’s no need for the warpaint!

First, put on my blemish cream. Because acne medications dry out the skin, I only spot treat active zits and ones that are threatening to come out.

Second, I squeeze a teaspoon of sunscreen in to my hand. Then I dot it on my forehead, nose, cheeks, and chin. I take care to blend the lotion very well: out to the hairline, jaw, ears and down my neck. I gently pat the sunscreen around my eyes to avoid pulling or smearing it into my eyes. I usually give my skin 15 – 20 minutes to let it soak the sunscreen in.

Third, I put on BE’s primetime foundation primer. I give this 5 minutes to dry. It soaks up the excess oil the sunscreen leaves on my face.

Fourth, I brush on my Aromaleigh foundation. I like the non-greasy but not powdery look.

Fifth, put on bronzer. Don’t mess with bronzer with any hint of shimmer in it. You are going to the beach not a discotech…unless you happen to be in Ibiza! Remember not to use a heavy hand with bronzer. Dust bronzer on your eyelids, on the apples of your cheeks and just above your cheekbones. Also put a little on your forehead, temles, and chin. You can add a teeny bit of pink blush to your cheeks.

Last, put on waterproof mascara. For lips, I use a lip stain like tarte, or Clinique Almost Lipstick. Gloss will melt in the heat. You can either go glam with the color like cherry red or bright pink or you can go with a quieter lipcolor like nude.

I don’t drag my makeup bag to the beach. What I bring are blotting papers and lipstain. I don’t worry about the makeup fading…because it will. All I do is blot in between chapters of my summer reading book!

I did some window shopping this weekend…

I found some interesting things… like jelly gladiators?! I have to say I love this. They even have the glittery clear ones. For $17 they are just too 80s cute. Yay!

Don’t even get me started on the Target floppy hat. If you are a bohemian or beach bunny chick like me then you’ll dig this hat. It’s reversable and (coincidentally) only $17. I need a hat that’s gonna stay on, LOL!

This week I’m going to talk about beach makeup. This applies to those going to the pool or the pier. Do this wrong and your make up will melt! Stay tuned fashionistas…

boring shopping weekend…

I only window shopped. The upshot is that my modem behaving like a angsty teenager rather than zip! So I’m very thankful that I could browse online shops in relative piece! I saw the most gorgeous high-waisted pencil skirt…right hemline, right color…but it has a back slit. AAARRGH! Oh well!

I am almost done with camp. I think I will have to go to Modell’s and pick up a baseball glove.

This week, I’m selling my pink faux-wrap dress. I literally tried it on and wasn’t crazy about the color. Blush pink doesn’t work for me, LOL! So now, y’all have a chance to snag it.

Funny story, I was buying dress pants for my son’s upcoming camp trip on eBay. I bid and won a pair of pants. Unfortunately, they are a women’s size 10. The seller thought they were a boy size 10. Oops. So I’m re-selling it! Most people who read this probably don’t wear pants but I linked it anyway in just case…

I will post some random interesting things I found window shopping this weekend!
